If someone you love is struggling with kratom, this page is for you.

Kratom addiction is real, and recovery is possible. What follows are resources for people in active addiction, families trying to help, and anyone who needs support to stop. You do not have to figure this out alone.

What to do if you think your family member is addicted.

Kratom withdrawal is severe and can feel dangerous. It mirrors opioid withdrawal: intense muscle pain, insomnia, anxiety, nausea, and deep depression. Most people cannot stop without support.

Talk to doctor who understands kratom. Buprenorphine (Suboxone) has been used successfully in clinical settings to treat kratom withdrawal. Ask specifically. Many primary care physicians are still unfamiliar with kratom.

Do not expect willpower alone to be enough. Kratom produces physical dependence. This is not character failing. It requires medical support.

People who understand what you are going through.
